Park Receptions: a Rustic Alternative

Instead of the more traditional experience of having a reception at a banquet hall, some couples pick picnic shelters for a more casual outdoor gathering. Shelters start at $25 so they are affordable. Ft DeSoto Park and War Veterans Memorial Park have water views. A favorite beach at Sand Key Park, Clearwater Beach has a picnic shelter across the parking lot from the beach. The grounds may also serve as the wedding site. Friends may bring pot luck food, takeout meals from places like Carrabba’s and Sonny’s BBQ or family and friends may the park’s barbeques and grill hot dogs, chicken, steaks or hamburgers.

Since parks have restrictions on alcohol and availability after dark, so ask Our Wedding Concierge for a list of local parks that are the right fit for you and your group. We are fans of both Seminole Park in Seminole and Philippe Park in Safety Harbor. We also like the Palm Arboretum in Downtown St Petersburg.
